The GiPSi can make
you a safer pilot because it allows you to spend more time with your eyes
outside the cockpit. You don’t have to have an up-to-date
certification in “Knob-ology” to be able to use GPS when you are flying
with a GiPSi.
The Air Safety Foundation and
the AOPA recommend “…a significant amount of time and practice to use a
new system proficiently…”. With the GiPSi the pilot receives
directions verbally from information stored and processed within the
device. Extensive training is simply NOT required. A Pilot can
spend his or her time “Flying the Airplane”!
The
GiPSi can find the closest runway and guide you to it with bearing,
distance, and ETA. It can be a backup panel with current track, altitude,
and ground speed. It will let you know current information and then warn
you of a deviation of more than 5 degrees, 300 feet, or 5 knots.
